Vaccinations
There are a number of fatal infectious diseases that can affect cats in the UK. Having your cat vaccinated is the only safe way to provide immunity against these diseases and if carried out, yearly boosters can protect your cat for life. Primary kitten vaccinations involve a two-part course, with vaccinations being given 3 to 4 weeks apart. The first vaccination can be given as early as 9 weeks of age depending on the brand used. The second vaccination is given at 12 weeks of age at the earliest.

Parasites
Your breeder is likely to have given your kitten their first few doses of worming treatment. Check when this was last done and what product was used. When you first visit us with your kitten, we will help you to find the best product to carry on their protection. At Penbode Vets we offer the Pet Health Plan which will help you spread the cost of veterinary supplied parasite prevention medication, and provide discounts on other treatments.
