Smallholder Services
Smallholder Club
We have been providing specialist veterinary care to a wide range of species for many years, from large commercial businesses to those with a few pet animals.
With our thriving Dairy, Beef and Flock Health clubs already up and running for a number of years, we are excited to now offer our Smallholders Club.
Who would benefit from the Smallholders Club?
Our Smallholders Club is aimed at those who:
-
Run a smallholding of sheep, cattle or other farm pets.
-
Are new to keeping farm animals.
-
Would benefit from our vaccine and wormer splitting service.
-
Would like to learn more about medicine, preventative care and treatment.
-
Own goats, alpacas, pigs, poultry and other non-conventional farm species.
-
Want to join our community of other like minded smallholders.
If you are already a member of one of our other clubs, you may find you’re even better suited to the Smallholder Club.

Four free Worm Egg Counts (WEC)
WECs are a very helpful tool, allowing us to monitor the level and type of endoparasite infection in your stock.
With every WEC you will receive free, tailored advice on what your results mean and what to do next.
Vaccine and wormer splitting service
Having to buy large bottles of vaccines and wormers can be frustrating when you only have a few animals to treat. This is why we are running vaccine splitting days for vaccines such as clostridial vaccine.
If you need a hand administering a vaccine, please contact us to discuss our vet tech services.
Free Smallholders Health Plan at your free annual prescription check
Get more out of your prescription checks with our new health plan, designed specifically for smallholders. This gives you an opportunity to sit down with a vet and create a bespoke health plan.
This will include a plan of how to treat issues you have faced in the last year, a calendar of things to do throughout the year and much more, all tailored to you and your stock.
Get a free annual prescription check visit and one hour of free vet time to complete the Smallholders Health Plan.
Free phone advice
We are always available to help with any queries over the phone.
Access to our WhatsApp group
If you have any questions or just want to connect with the community, you can be added to our Smallholders WhatsApp group, which is regularly monitored by our dedicated smallholder vets.
Meetings and training days
We aim to demystify those more confusing topics, such as worming and controlling lameness, but also dive into all aspects of care, medicine, vaccines, breeding and much more across all the species.
Smallholder newsletter
Free to all members, our quarterly smallholders newsletter contains updates on upcoming events and helpful articles focussing on all species.
24/7 emergency care
If your animals require emergency care, the mobile Penbode vet team is available any time, night or day, to provide critical care.
Access to our onsite lambing bay
Save yourself a visit fee and come into one of the well-equipped lambing bays at our Holsworthy, Stratton and Bradworthy branches.
All of this, for only £15 per month. To sign up, please contact Penbode Farm Vets.
