AHDB Transition Cow Management

Making the transition period work for you and your cows.

The Programme: Effective management of the transition period can make or break the cow's lactation. Find out how dry cow management is crucial to producing a cow that holds condition, calves easily and enters the herd primed to meet her yield potential.

Dr Tom Chamberlain, a dairy veterinary consultant with EBVC, will be providing practical advice on;
€         How you can 'set the cow up' for the transition period
€         Late lactation feeding
€         Drying off policies
€         Feeding and management as a far-off and a close-up dry cow
€         How best should a fresh calver be managed and fed?

Outcomes: The workshop will end wit drawing up action plans and check lists to help you target and improve your transition cow management.

Who should attend? Anyone on farm involved in managing cows

Date:      Wednesday 23 November 2016
Time:     19:00 €“ 21:30 (supper provided so booking essential)
Venue:   The Cow Shed, Holsworthy Market, Holsworthy EX22 7FA
