At Penbode Pets we believe in providing your pet with the best health care possible, which is why we take an holistic approach and can include complementary medicines such as homeopathic veterinarian remedies into our treatment plans.

Homeopathy

Homeopathy can be used alone or in combination with conventional treatments for acute and chronic problems. It may help in a variety of conditions from itchy skin to cancer. A longer consultation (45 minutes) allows the vet to gather relevant information on symptoms as well as your pet's character and behaviour, to allow selection of the closest remedy. Homeopathic veterinarian remedies provide a stimulus to the pet to heal itself.

Acupuncture

At Penbode Pets the 'Western' approach to acupuncture is used for pain relief and to improve mobility. It is regularly combined in treatment programmes for lameness, arthritis, back pain and in aiding recovery from orthopaedic surgery. Needling is readily accepted by most pets. Typically 4 sessions are needed.

Herbal medicine

Herbal medicines have long been established for medical purposes to treat both people and animals. Herbal remedies contain either whole or parts of plants in a dried or tincture form. These plants contain compounds which may have actions not available in conventional medicine. Specific remedies are tailored to specific pets.
